INFRASTRUCTURE


South County Business Park:

Interim upgrade at Leopardstown Roundabout providing a slip lane exit from South County Business Park (SCBP) onto Leopardstown Road towards ESB Roundabout / M50 significantly improving traffic delays exiting SCBP.


Burton Hall Road Extension:

SBDA supported the delivery of this road which opened in January 2014 linking Burton Hall Road to Leopardstown Road (opposite Bewleys) providing a new entrance and exit to and from the M50 which has alleviated traffic congestion approaching the Leopardstown Roundabout.


Sandyford Smarter Travel:

SBDA supports this scheme which aims to make the District more accessible by sustainable modes of travel such as walking, cycling, car sharing and by public transport. See http://www.sandyfordsmartertravel.ie


New Pedestrian Boulevard:

Creating a pedestrian link from Blackthorn Drive to Carmanhall Road – lobbied for and delivered.


New Pedestrian & Cycle Route old Harcourt Street Line:

Linking Leopardstown Road & Brewery Road, lobbied for and delivered in 2012.


Leopardstown & Brewery Roads Signalised Crossings:

New crossings for pedestrians and cyclists launched in 2012.


Park & Ride in Carrickmines:

Lobbied for and delivered in Spring 2012.


St. Benildus Avenue:

New road connecting Blackthorn Avenue to Drummartin Link Road lobbied for and delivered in Autumn 2011.


Traffic Lights at ESB Roundabout:

Lobbied for and delivered in Autumn 2011.


New Gateway & Road signs:

Three large “Gateway” signs at main entrances to the area and new blue road signs were installed in 2010.


INVESTMENT & PLANNING


“Invest in Sandyford” Project:

To promote the Sandyford Business District as an established world–class investment location of choices for both international and domestic audiences, grants have been awarded under the DLRCoCo Business Promotion Grant Scheme to fund marketing collateral. The first phase, the creation of the “Invest in Sandyford” video was launched at the AGM and Information Evening in March 2014.


Sandyford Urban Framework Plan 2011 – 2016:

Lobbied for and delivered September 2011.


LANDSCAPING & MAINTENANCE


Landscaping & Maintenance:

Ongoing liaison with designated Senior Executive Officer from DLRCoCo.  Regular meetings are held between the SBDA and DLRCoCo to ensure consistent high standards are maintained in the District specifically in relation to overall landscaping (re grass verges, trees, roundabout) footpaths, graffiti, road signage, road markings, strategic infrastructure proposal and public realm improvements.


SECURITY


Garda Business Watch Scheme:

Launched in 2013 to develop a network of communication across the District to help fight and reduce crime in the area.


COMMUNICATION


British Irish Chamber of Commerce: SBDA joined as a member in 2013


Smarter Travel Mobility Network: SBDA is a committee member since 2012


Website for SBDA (www.sbda.ie): launched in January 2012 to coincide with name change from SBEA to SBDA.
